All by myself

Every time my young son would run to his room it would be followed by a “MOM!” and I would have to stop what I’m doing, go to his room and turn the light on, because the switch (like in all rooms) was beyond his reach. That is until I received the KidSwitch! This little invention instantly gave him independence and was so easy for him to use that I’ve given one to every child I know!

This clever gadget brings independence within reach, literally. Young children will love turning lights on and off by themselves. They need only move the moon up and down to flip the switch. This glow-in-the-dark extender mounts easily on the switch plate of a common toggle light switch. At $8.95 it will be the best gift you give yourself and your kid will love it too!

Easter Play

With Easter just around the corner we wanted to share our latest finds for last minute gifts!

From our favorite felt creators at Textile Platypus, where every item is uniquely and entirely handmade, you’ll find this adorable mother and baby bunny rabbit set, and as you can see, they are having a carrot in mind… seems like lunch time approaches!

We love the Ingrid Dress from Little Ticket. Although Ingrid was inspired by a vintage pattern from 1970, her simple a-line silhouette has been around for ages and is a true classic for this year’s Easter Egg Hunt!

This delicate little Bunny Pendant from Silent Roses is the perfect accessory for your little angle this Easter Sunday.

One of our little guys will be hiding his Easter eggs (and candy) in one of these Canvas Teepee’s! A perfect afternoon escape. Made of natural colored canvas and sanded wood poles, this modern take on the authentic teepee design is made to simply collapse for convenient fold-away storage options.

Welcome to the Jungle

We are huge fans of child-sized furniture, especially when it’s hand-crafted by Paloma’s Nest… it’s the kind of furniture that can handle finger painting, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and if you dare some fortress building!

Turn your playroom into an adventure! Simple shapes and a natural finish make the Menagerie Collection of children’s furniture a timeless set that will be enjoyed for years to come. A whimsical tree-trunk supports the table top, and a variety of animal chairs gather around it. The designers at Paloma’s Nest have hand crafted this eco-friendly birch plywood, into beautiful child-size furniture.

Less Means More

The imagination of children is without limits and borders and we feel that when it comes to make-believe less is truly more. Kids don’t need all the bells and whistles to be entertained, they just need a little inspiration and that’s exactly what happened when we watched our kids play with these super cute Mask and Tail Sets!

Suddenly, our living was transformed into a wild jungle with animals and danger lurking around every corner, and a short time later the jungle magically became a wonderful forest where animals lived in beautiful houses and enjoyed afternoon tea, with chocolate cookies of course!

Silhouettes

We love silhouettes of children and when we came across these amazing pendants for moms we knew we had to share! These pendants are so delicate and beautifully hand-crafted that you’ll want one of every child (or pet) in your life!

Creative director, designer and mother of two, Cadence HaeWon Ryu makes chic and understated pieces of jewelry made-to-order. Make your choice of yellow gold or sterling silver, or go all out with diamonds! For her silhouette pendant collection, inspired by her two adorable children, Cadence will personally contact and work with you to create a specially-designed chain and pendant combo with the silhouette of your child or favorite pet.

Her amazing jewelry is available at Candace Lee.

Room with a View

So if minimalism is your thing, clean lines (or in this case no lines) and you have a little OCD then the Vetro crib is the perfect addition to your nursery. We were in awe when we saw this crib first-hand and the idea that your baby would seem like he is floating in air was like art coming to life in the nursery. Ok, maybe that’s being a little melodramatic, but you get the drift… this crib is awesome!

Inspired by the love of acrylic furniture, Nurseryworks has reached new heights with the design of this one-of-a-kind crib. As the first and only crib in the market to be made entirely of acrylic, the Vetro crib is a unique and sophisticated sleeping spot for your little one. Featuring beautiful curved edges and three level mattress heights, which makes it a breeze to get your little modernist in and out!

Coo Coo for Kukunest

We are always looking for really cute bedding, but what is even harder to find is cute “toddler bedding”. Well look no further, because the cutest bedding for boys and girls is made by Kukunest.

We are in love with the Sub Adventure Toddler Set (that also comes in twin), this modern bedding set is so refreshing with its cool colors and organic forms. These quirky sea creatures will be loved by both boys and girls.

The Lantern Festival Bedding is perfect for your little firecracker with the brightest boldest colors to brighten up her room! Each set comes with acomforter (the kind that’s really well made and doesn’t bunch up after you wash it), a fitted sheet and a sham… at $95 that’s a steal!

Bilibo

We can’t say enough about how much we LOVE the Bilibo! Created by the fab folks at Kid O, who know a thing or two about having fun and being a kid!

The Bilibo from Kid O is an adorable, multi-purpose toy whose clean design works well in any modern home. It’s a rocking chair, a spinning top, a cradle—and when you flip it over, it’s a tunnel that kids can crawl through! They’ll create countless uses for this award-winning toy, both indoors and out. It can even be used to slide down a steep grassy hill! (not that we would ever allow our children to do such a thing… just sayin’ it might be a cool thing to do).

Postage Please

It is so rare to receive a hand written letter these days, but we feel that we’d be doing our children a huge disservice if we didn’t encourage them to write letters to their friends and learn to appreciate the art of writing a letter (because the way things are going it may being come extinct). In order to encourage this long forgotten art, we are always on the look out for ways to encourage them to write and nothing could be as inviting and as the child-friendly as Letter Sets from Ginko Papers!

Kids will spend endless hours of weekend fun with all of the craft-friendly illustrated letter-and-envelope sets and stickers offered up by Ginko Papers. Back when you were a kid, stationery stores were probably all the rage. (Or was that just us?) These days, kids need a little extra encouragement to send a thank you note to Auntie Beth. These Letter Sets by Ginko Papers includes six sheets of paper, three glassine envelopes that fit 4×6 photos and four decorated clips, so kids can write small notes and even—gasp!—include a photo, too. What a novel idea!
